The goal of the Community Canvas Collaborative is to create numerous pieces of original art of the town by random people in the town.
Ipswich residents and visitors can all be part of a unique art experiment. We will capture the special places in Ipswich that so many of us cherish in a unique way.
What is the Community Canvas Collaborative?
The Community Canvas Collaborative is an exciting initiative that brings art to the heart of our community in a unique and inclusive way. For a minimum of four days from June 1 to July 30, armed with at least 20 blank canvases, we will set up easels at high-traffic and well publicized locations of interest throughout the town. Here's the twist: every passerby, from seasoned artists to first-time painters, gets three minutes at the easel to contribute to the creation.
What sets us apart? We're not just about professional artists. We're about community members, like you, who want to leave their mark on a piece of original art that reflects our town's spirit and beauty.
But the fun doesn't stop there. We invite you to join us for a multi-day art show, where we'll celebrate these collaborative creations. It's free for everyone to attend, so bring your friends and family. The real magic happens when all the paintings are put up for silent auction. The proceeds from these auctions go directly to support local community groups and fund future Community Canvas Collaborative Projects.
