The "Community Canvas Collaborative" is a project that involves placing blank art canvases at various locations around Ipswich, inviting passersby to contribute by painting something on these canvases.

What?

  • Create Original Art: Our primary goal is to generate numerous pieces of original artwork representing Ipswich from diverse perspectives.
  • Community Engagement: We aim to engage Ipswich residents and visitors in a creative process that fosters a sense of community and shared ownership of public art.
  • Culminating Art Show: The long-term objective is to host an art show at the Hall-Haskell House, where these canvases will be displayed, celebrating our town's unique artistic heritage.

Why?

  • Inclusive Art Show: Ipswich residents and visitors of all backgrounds will have the opportunity to contribute to and participate in a unique art show.
  • Capturing Special Places: The project will capture the essence of Ipswich, including its special places, moments, and cherished memories in a distinctive and creative way.
  • Enhancing Cultural Heritage: Hosting the art show at the at one of the many amazing venues in town will enrich Ipswich's cultural heritage and provide a platform for the community to celebrate its unique character.

How?

  1. Fill out the Location Form to help us pick 20 locations
  2. Fill out the volunteer form today!
  3. 20 Locations. 5 Days, 4 locations per day.
  4. A three day art show with Silent Auction

How Can You Get Involved?
The Ipswich Community Canvas Collaborative will be a community wide effort, and we need your help to make it a reality. Here are some ways you can get involved:

  • Choose Locations: We invite the community to pick high-traffic locations where we can place our blank canvases. Your input is invaluable in ensuring that these canvases become an integral part of our town's landscape.
  • Volunteer to Host a Paint Day: We need passionate community volunteers to host paint days at different canvas locations. These events provide an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together and contribute their artistic talents.
  • Supply Donations: To make this project flourish, we require various art supplies, including paint, canvas, easels, brushes, pallets, rags, and fresh water. Your contributions help us provide the materials needed for our community's creative expression.
  • Promotional Support: We are seeking promotional sponsors who can help us spread the word about the Ipswich Community Canvas Project. Your support will ensure that more people in our community can participate and appreciate this initiative.
  • Venue for Art Show: As our project progresses, we will need a venue to host the culminating art show. If you have a suitable space or know of one, please reach out to us.
  • Donations for Art Opening: The art show's success also relies on donations for the opening event. Your contributions will help create a memorable experience for all who attend.
